Low Reflective (LR)
The luminance emitted by an average LCD display reaches approximately 200-350 cd/m2. If we place a LCD outdoors in the sunlight (brightness is around 10,000 cd/m2), reflected light will be too bright for us to see what is on the LCD. Research indicates, the luminance of an outdoor use LCD must be greater than 686 cd/m2 to display an acceptable picture. As a result, many enhanced LCDs, whether built with a polarizer or increased luminance, are available on the market which are designed to overcome the challenges of an outdoor viewing environment.
A Low Reflective touch screen will effectively reduce light reflectivity to as low as <1.5% so that the LCD will be clearly visible. The core technology AMT applies involves reducing the reflection of the touch screen while simultaneously reinforcing light transmission. Developers need not modify the LCD to make his/her product fit for outdoor use.
In comparison to the reflectivity of standard resistive touch screens (approximately 16%~22%), AMT offers a series of CR (Circular Polarizer) Low Reflective touch screens which lower reflectivity to <1.5%. Our LR touch panels are available with anti-glare and clear surface finishes and in sizes ranging from 3” to 19”.
